The short version: EasyGear sends nothing to its developer. There are no accounts, no analytics and no server behind it. The longer version is below, because a few things do leave your phone — to Apple, to your own iCloud, and to a shop if you paste a link to one — and you should know exactly which.
Your gear (names, what you paid, serial numbers, notes), the photos you take of it, your kits, shoots, pack lists, loans and the links you've shared. All of it lives on your iPhone, in the app's own storage. The developer has no way to see any of it.
If "Sync through iCloud" is on in Settings (it is, by default), the same data is stored in your iCloud account through Apple's CloudKit, so another iPhone signed in to the same Apple ID sees it too. That is a private database that only your devices can read — not the developer. Turn the switch off and nothing more goes up; what's already there stays in your iCloud until you delete it from the app or from iCloud settings.
When a shoot has a place, EasyGear asks Apple for the forecast (WeatherKit) and uses Apple Maps to find the place while you type. Apple receives the place and the date for that request; the developer does not. Apple's privacy policy covers those calls. A shoot without a place makes no such request.
When you add gear by pasting a product link, EasyGear opens that page in a web view inside the app, exactly as Safari would, and reads the product details the shop publishes in the page itself — name, brand, model number, price. The shop sees an ordinary visit from your phone and whatever its own cookies and analytics record, the same as any visit. Nothing about it is reported to the developer, and the app doesn't copy the shop's pictures. If you never paste a link, the app never contacts a shop.
A "Share my gear" link carries the list inside the link itself, after the
# sign. The page at easyfilm.io/gear/ runs entirely in the browser and stores
nothing; browsers don't even send that part of an address to the server. The reply your
director, producer or DP sends back works the same way. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is logged, and there is no
database behind it. Whoever you send the link to can read the list — that's the
point — so send it the way you'd send a photo of your kit.
The camera is used only when you photograph gear, and only while you're doing it. Photos access is add-only and only when you tap "Save to Photos" for a Kit Card; the app can't see your library. Your pictures never leave the phone except through your own iCloud sync, described above.
The night-before and loan reminders are local notifications, scheduled on the phone. "Nudge" opens Messages with the text already written; whether it's sent is up to you, and the developer never sees it.
No analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, no third-party code. The app's privacy manifest declares exactly this.
Settings → Delete everything removes it all from the phone and, if sync is on, from your iCloud. Deleting the app does the same for the phone. You can also remove the app's data in iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Storage.
